January 2009 BaySys International announces new facilitiy
BaySys International, LLC announces expansion with new VIP and Head of State transport aircraft completion facility for BaySys Technologies, LLC. The 360,000 square foot facility consists of two hangars, offices and backshops. The new BaySys facility will anchor the recently established Wallops Research Park (WRP). Accomack County, Marine Science Consortium and NASA, the founders and partners of the WRP approved BaySys site plans making BaySys the flagship tenant at the WRP. Read full press release
December 2008 BaySys West to close facilities
BaySys International, Melfa, VA, USA. BaySys International announced to employees, customers and suppliers that BaySys International is closing the BaySys West facility which occupies hangars at the airport in San Bernardino, CA. The closure will be effective on January 2, 2009. Steve Walton, CEO and Founder of BaySys International cited the desire to focus management’s attention on current projects including the two ‘Head-of-State’ wide-body interior completions for 2009 delivery from BaySys Technologies, Wallops Island, Virginia location (a Boeing 777 and an Airbus 340).
Steve Walton met with employees recently and praised them for the work completed by the BaySys West Team which included the following projects:
• C-checks on two Las Vegas Sands Hotel Boeing 737’s
• Boeing 737-700 Interior (STC – ST02142LA)
• Boeing 747SP C-check and Cabin System Upgrades (STC – ST02535NY)
• Boeing 727-200 C-check
• Two aircraft for maintenance checks and Interior Upgrades for Las Vegas Hotel (Multiple STC – ST02506NY)
• Installation of Flight Environments acoustic up-grade packages on two Beechcraft King Air aircraft
• SATCOM up-grade on a Boeing 757 with the removal of the Boeing Connexion Antenna System.

BaySys Technologies, Accomac, VA, USA. BaySys Technologies hosts event recognizing NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility for its contributions to aerospace research during a historical marker unveiling ceremony at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 22, at the NASA Visitor Center.
NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility was recognized by the Commonwealth of Virginia for its contributions to aerospace research during a historical marker unveiling ceremony at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 22, at the NASA Visitor Center.
Established in 1945 by the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics, Wallops is one of the oldest launch sites in the world. During its 63 year history, Wallops has contributed to both aeronautical and space flight development research.
The nomination of Wallops as a historic site was provided by the Virginia Aeronautical Historical Society and supported by the Virginia Department of Historic Resources and the Virginia Department of Aviation.
The ceremony will include comments by local, state and NASA officials on the Commonwealth’s marker program, a history of Wallops and the contributions of the facility today in Virginia and the surrounding community. Following the comments, the historic marker, located on Va. Route 175 at the entrance to the NASA Visitor Center, will be unveiled.
The event was hosted by BaySys Technologies, Accomac, Va., on behalf of the Virginia Aeronautical Historical Society.

BaySys West Receives Part-145 Repair Station Approval Certificate from European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
BaySys West, San Bernardino, CA, USA. BaySys West has just received EASA Part-145 Approval Certificate EASA.145.6134. This certificate allows BaySys to provide services for EASA certified aircraft listed on the current BaySys West FAA Part-145 Repair Station Certificate (Y2WR97Y) Operations Specification. These aircraft and powerplants presently include:
Airframes:
- Boeing 707, 727, 737, 747, 757, and 767 Series
- Airbus A-340 Series
- Lockheed L-1011 Series
- Beechcraft King Air 200, 300, 350 Series
Powerplants:
- Snecma/General Electric CFM-56, CF-6 Series
- Pratt & Whitney JT-8, JT-9, PW2000, PW4000 Series

Since it’s opening in April 2007, BaySys West has successfully completed over a dozen aircraft programs which include the following:
- Complete interior refurbishment for a high-profile Boeing 737 BBJ client
- Full airline to executive interior conversions on two Boeing 737 aircraft
- Interior refurbishment and multiple cabin upgrades on a Boeing 747SP aircraft
- Multiple light and heavy maintenance inspections on 707, 727, 737, and 747 aircraft

BaySys West, located at the San Bernardino International Airport (KSBD), includes approximately 400,000 sq ft of hangar, backshop, and office space to accomplish narrow and wide body interior upgrades, modifications, and completions. BaySys’ recent expansion of hangar space and backshops presents availability of input slots to accomplish short term interior reconfiguration, refurbishment, and modification programs as well as maintenance inspections.
In addition to the BaySys West 145 Repair Station, BaySys Technologies, located at Wallops Island, Virginia operates FAA Part-145 Repair Station B62R611Y. BaySys Technologies has also received GACA Certificate of Approval.

BaySys West Awarded FAA Supplemental Type Certificate for Boeing 747SP VIP Transport Aircraft Cabin System Upgrades.
BaySys West, San Bernardino, CA, USA. BaySys West has redelivered a Boeing 747SP aircraft and was awarded FAA STC ST02535NY for multiple cabin and cockpit upgrades.
This interior modification program encompassed numerous system upgrades and new installations, including IFE/CMS installations, completion of heavy maintenance inspection, and interior seating reconfiguration.
IFE/CMS upgrades included LCD projector and monitor installations, DVD/CD and XM installations, Airshow upgrade, Aircell and Aerocomm installations, and in-seat A/V installation.
Cabin upgrades included installation of new shower in VIP lavatory, 1st class seating reconfiguration and refurbishment, addition of club and flight attendant seating, addition of in-seat power, and Securaplane system installation.
This program marks the twelfth BaySys West completion in as many months. Other VIP transport aircraft programs included multiple 737 interior refurbishments, paint completion management, and heavy and light aircraft maintenance inspections under FAA 145 Repair Station Y2WR97Y. BaySys West is scheduled to redeliver another BBJ heavy interior modification this quarter.

BaySys West Expands Into New 40,000 Square Foot VIP Aircraft Interior Fabrication and Completion Shop.
BaySys West, San Bernardino, CA, USA. BaySys West has recently expanded into an additional 40,000 square feet of back shop space to accommodate upcoming projects and rising demand of interior completion projects for Boeing and Airbus wide and narrow body VIP and Head of State transport aircraft.
This new interior space is equipped to supply the fabrication and finishing of all interior elements for multiple completion and refurbishment programs running in parallel. BaySys has also significantly expanded their in-house staff of interior completion experts, including cabinetry, upholstery, and finishing specialists.
This expansion, combined with over 450,000 square feet of hangar, shop, and office space, makes BaySys one of the largest completion facilities in the US. Current hangar space allows BaySys West to accommodate up to five aircraft programs simultaneously, including up to four Boeing and Airbus narrow body aircraft and one wide body. The BaySys West facility is also co-located with a wide and narrow body exterior paint completion facility.
BaySys West has completed a total of eleven programs in the last year, including interior refurbishment, paint completion management, and heavy and light aircraft maintenance inspections under FAA 145 Repair Station Y2WR97Y. BaySys West is on schedule to redeliver BBJ and 747SP interior reconfiguration programs this quarter.

BaySys Technologies awarded FAA Supplemental Type Certificate for Boeing 737 VIP Aircraft Interior Modifications.
BaySys West, San Bernardino, CA, USA. BaySys recently received issuance of STC ST02506NY for multiple interior modifications on the Boeing 737-300 Aircraft.
The airline-to-VIP interior modification project encompassed installation of VIP conference and seating areas, including cabinetry, tables, divans and four-place VIP seating, in-seat power installation, multiple in-flight entertainment and cabin management upgrades, heavy maintenance check, and exterior paint completion. The aircraft was successfully redelivered to the US based client in early February 2008.

BaySys Technologies Awarded Contract to upgrade SATCOM system on Boeing 767 VIP Aircraft.
BaySys West, San Bernardino, CA, USA. BaySys was recently awarded a contract to install, certify, and activate an AMT antenna system on Blue City Holding's Boeing 767 VIP aircraft. BaySys intends to accomplish this installation against an FAA STC submitted through the FAA New York ACO.
BaySys has demonstrated competence and on-time delivery of similar projects, including four programs successfully completed in 2006 involving new configurations of SATCOM antenna systems, two of which were FAA STC projects.

BaySys Technologies Awarded Contract for A340 VIP Completion.
BaySys Technologies, Accomac, VA, USA. BaySys has recently executed contracts for the full VIP completion of a Middle Eastern based "green" Airbus A340-200 aircraft. The interior completion shall include VIP stateroom and office, primary and secondary majlis, as well as executive and business seating areas.
BaySys is currently engaged on several other wide and narrow body VIP transport aircraft interior completion and modification projects, including a Head of State Boeing 777 full VIP interior completion, BBJ multiple VIP interior modifications, and a Boeing 767 "C" check. Eclipse Concept Jet Built and Flown at BaySys Wallops Island Facility, Introduced at OshKosh.
Wallops Island, VA, USA. BaySys Technologies is pleased to formally announce it was the "behind-the-scenes" organization secretly selected by Eclipse Aviation and Swift Engineering to assist in the design, engineering, full assembly, and test flight of the ground-breaking new single engine "personal jet" concept aircraft introduced by Eclipse.
Selected for it's extensive engineering expertise and ability to deliver against seemingly impossible deadlines, BaySys worked closely with Swift and Eclipse representatives to move from design concept to first flight in just 200 days.
This innovative V-tail Eclipse Concept Jet (ECJ) aircraft, codenamed "SpeedBird", was completely assembled and test flown by BaySys personnel under tight security at BaySys' Wallops Island location. The extremely aggressive schedule was imposed in order to deliver the ECJ to Oshkosh for the late July EAA AirVenture unveiling.
